Go for it Start A Business Programme

For start up businesses LEO offer the Go for it Start A Business programme (on behalf of Invest NI). This programme is designed to help people start a business and offers a free package of support which includes a business advisory service, training on sales and marketing, financial management, legal and statutory issues, financial planning and ICT mentoring. The programme also provides the opportunity to apply for start up grant assistance.

New Deal for Self Employment Initiative

This programme provides individuals in receipt of unemployment or disability benefits with the opportunity to test the viability of a business venture through a 26- week test-trading period. Individuals also have the opportunity to participate on a short business course and receive guidance from a business advisor throughout the test period with the goal of registering as self employed post test-trading. While test- trading individuals can retain benefits and avail of a top up grant.

Tradelinks

Alongside its Enterprise partners and the Border County Enterprise Boards, LEO offers the Tradelinks programme. Specifically designed to assist the micro-enterprise sector the programme provides a range of mentoring and support to meet the needs of businesses at various stages of development.

Business Wise

Our forth-coming Business Wise programme is scheduled to commence in September 2006. Whether you have just started in business or have been in business for some time Business Wise is a series of fact filled lunch time seminars designed to provide you with top tips and practical information on a range of issues. Topics will include employment, legal issues, branding, developing a PR strategy and examining the finances.

Microtrade

This programme helps small businesses build contacts, markets and partnerships across the island of Ireland. The programme is an initiative of Enterprise Northern Ireland, the County and City Enterprise Boards and InterTradeIreland. Support available includes networking events, funding and training.
